This is a great program for those that have trouble updating their Punk Buster

Background: I got sick and tired of waiting for PB to update while I watched all the fun.

You would think pbweb.exe would be quicker, but no. So, I set out to create an app that would obtain the latest Client files for AA PB.


Info: This app allows you to download the latest files with the click of a button.

The only time limitation is the speed of your internet connection. The reference ".htm" files are downloaded and placed into your pb directory. Upon joining a server, your PB client merely has to process the files (about 20 seconds in my experience) and you're in business.


Installation: No installation required. Just run it.

Excellnt app!

It's great that someone finally took the time to do something like this... PBweb takes forever...

Thanks for the great app. smile Keep 'em coming.

(I have one question, since I do program myself- What did you use as the codebase? Java? C++? VB? Just a question out of interest.)

Great application, but if I click on the Launch button, without Update it fails smile
anyway it really downloads the new PB files in few secs

I had to take a long break from coding and thus working on this project due to work. I'm back and I'll rewriting this app in VB so that I can add some other functionality and provide the source code for anyone wanting to contribute to the project. Hopefully I'll have v0.3 ready for release in a couple of weeks.
